The company revealed Monday the Atlas Rig-2 had started drilling the Ungani Far West-1 over the weekend, about 3.3 kilometres south-west of its producing Ungani field.
The well is expected to take about 48 days to reach a total depth of 2600 metres and will appraise the western extent of the Ungani structure targeting conventional oil in the Lower Laurel carbonates.
