Initial test rates of over 2000 barrels per day from the Ungani-1/ST1 well were encouraging, the company said, with the wells to now be produced at varying rates to allow estimates of longer term sustainable flow rates and reservoir productivity.
The extended production test facility had been designed with the capacity for a maximum standard production rate of 1000 bpd, though production would initially average 400 bpd due to testing programme technical requirements.
