Bush heading for showdown with greens

US President-elect George W. Bush's proposals for aggressively boosting domestic energy production are drawing stiff resistance from environmentalists and lawmakers from both parties in the clearest sign yet that the environment will be a major political battleground in the coming administration, the Washington Post reported.
