Upstream has confirmed that private equity-backed Fifth Creek Energy bought EOG's acreage in Weld County, Colorado. The transaction is understood to include about 11,400 net acres prospective for both the Niobrara and Codell tight-oil formations.
The sale closed "recently", according to an Upstream source with direct knowledge of the deal.
EOG's Weld County package had been on the market for almost a year.
