Byron has bought the used tripod jacket, decks, helideck, boat landing and production equipment that will be put to use on the oil find in South Marsh Island Block 71 off Louisiana.
Laredo will be responsible for modifying and refurbishing the unit, which has recently been taken out of service to the company’s yard in Galveston, Texas.
The SM 71-1 well was drilled to a total depth of 2086 metres earlier this year and hit more than 150 feet of pay in four sands.
