A Cal Dive representative said a fire started in the aft engine room on Sunday afternoon while the vessel was mobilising to another location, at work with an unnamed offshore oil and gas company.
The spokesman did not say which block the vessel was in at the time, but said it was outside the mouth of the Mississippi River in about 1000 feet of water.
