The authorisation means output at the proposed plan will rise by 1.41 billion cubic feet per day of LNG to 3.53 Bcfd, or 24.92 million tonnes per annum.

The authorisation follows approval in May for a two-train expansion from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (Ferc).

Construction of the first phase of the $10 billion project is currently under way. Operations are set to commence in 2018, with the first full year of operations in 2019.
