The company said the recent drop in oil prices had affected oil revenues from the Surprise field, and a number of steps were being taken to combat this, including applying for all the necessary permits to operate the oilfield remotely from Alice Springs.
It said this would allow it to reduce production costs at the field where output currently averages about 160 barrels per day.
