The UK gas giant has been active in Norway in recent years and is nearing a final investment decision on its Nkr6 billion ($730 million) Oda oil project in the North Sea.
However, it is also planning a significant reduction of its employees in the country. Upstream has learned that it will reduce its organisation by 20% to 30%. Hired consultants will not have their contracts renewed and up to 20 of the 130 or so full-time employees will be laid off as a result of the restructuring process.
