The 8/10-5-S probe targeting the Butch East prospect will be drilled by the jack-up Maersk Giant in Centrica’s operated production licence 405 to the north-east of the Ekofisk field and south-east of Ula.
The well – the fourth to be drilled in the licence and the first of two planned wildcats – has an estimated duration of 90 days in the event of a discovery, with a possible sidetrack expected to take 45 days and production testing 30 days.
