CGX said in a statement this week that an agreement with a potential partner on the Berbice Port project had fallen through after it "lost confidence" in "certain counter parties" that had signed a term sheet to build the wharf and logistics yard.
The term sheet was signed in April as supermajor ExxonMobil was appraising what would become the world-class Liza discovery, which injected a wave of industry optimism for Guyana's deep-water offshore province.
