Testing of the Barnett formation had revealed gas production in the area, though the total rate of gas produced was decreasing as the well was loading up with frac water – impeding gas production.
Challenger said the engineer supervising the test, Lee Matthews, had said the gas rate would not increase without the installation of artificial lift to assist in removing water.
