Contractor Bechtel will hand over control of Train 2 to Cheniere after substantial completion was achieved on Thursday with commissioning finalised, Cheniere said.
Cheniere is developing Sabine Pass - located in Cameron Parish, Louisiana - as a six-train facility, each with a nominal production capacity of around 4.5 million tonnes per annum of LNG.
The first commercial cargo from Train 2 is expected in August next year, on foot of a 20-year deal with Gas Natural Fenosa.
