US supermajor Chevron has signed an agreement to firm up a joint venture with Japan's Inpex and Mexico's Pemex for the exploration of an offshore block in the Perdido fold-belt.
The trio won a competitive bid process to take Block 3 in the western region of the hydrocarbons area, the first block won by Pemex with partners in the country's first-ever deep-water competitive bid offering last December.
