Front-end engineering and design work has started on the second phase of development at Chevron’s Gorgon liquefied natural gas project in Western Australia.
The company revealed at a briefing it hosted on the sidelines of the Australasian Oil & Gas conference in Perth on Thursday that FEED work on Gorgon Stage 2 kicked off last month.
The second phase of development will, if sanctioned, involve the drilling of additional wells and installation of subsea infrastructure and infield flow-lines at the existing Gorgon and Jansz-Io gas fields.
