Big Foot sailed away in mid-March last year and was poised to start installation in the deep-water US Gulf in early June.
However, buoyancy modules holding the tendons in place detached amid strong ocean currents, leaving the tethers to fall to the seafloor and damaging some components.
The facility, in Walker Ridge Block 29, was set to be installed in about 5187 feet of water.
