Chevron confirmed that its longtime head of Saudi Arabian operations, Ahmad Awad al-Omar, is now heading up the supermajor's activities in Kuwait ahead of an expected restart this year of prolific shared fields between the neighbouring countries.

Al-Omar, who has been with Saudi Chevron for 48 years and has served as president there for nearly two decades, will be replaced by Mohammed al-Marri, the company's senior vice president of administration.

"Chevron has had business interests in Kuwait for a number of years.
