Stilley is a 38-year industry veteran, particularly of the Gulf of Mexico shelf rig business and led Hercules from 2004 to 2008.
From 2008 to 2011 he oversaw a fleet of mat-supported jack-up drilling rigs first as a unit of Pride International that was later spun off into the short-lived Seahawk Drilling.
