The Irish junior’s application for an extension of its 100%-owned licence on the Mahdia block has been accepted, with the permit pushed out three years until January 2018.
The extension requires, however, that Circle drill one exploration well and an appraisal probe, as well as 300 square kilometres of 3D seismic.
The company had been looking for a farm-in partner or partners and is hoping this extension will expedite those plans.
