The well has been suspended as a potential gas producer following a testing programme that saw flow rates of 17.8 million cubic feet per day with some water and minor condensate, said co-venturer Lion Energy.
Wireline pressure testing, combined with sampling and drillstem test data, indicates a gas column of at least 1106 metres, added Lion.
Lion chief executive Kim Morrison said: “Lofin-2 is an exciting result for Lion and we look forward to working with our co-venturers and the government on commercialising this important discovery.”
