The US independent was approved on 14 October to spin the bit at Garden Banks Block 1003 in the deep-water Gulf of Mexico.
The site, to be drilled by the drillship Rowan Reliance, lies about 163 miles offshore in 4437 feet of water, according to records of the US Bureau of Safety & Environmental Enforcement (BSEE).
An exploration plan calls for a spud as soon as 1 November, but an investor presentation anticipates a 2016 drill.
