The problem came to light about one year ago when Australia's UGL, which is part of the consortium building the plant, said a range of project changes and events in the design and procurement phase, along with subsequent delays to the project, had increased costs.
UGL said on 17 November that its consortium, which is led by CH2M Hill and also includes GE, has reached an agreement with the main contractor - the JKC joint venture between JGC, KBR and Chiyoda - settling all of the consortium’s claims up to 31 August 2015.
