The Oklahoma City-headquartered player is offloading a total of 80,000 net acres of non-strategic assets to an undisclosed buyer.
Continental agreed to sell 68,000 net acres in western Williams County, North Dakota, and 12,000 net acres in Roosevelt County, Montana, for $222 million in total.
The sale includes around 2800 barrels of oil equivalent per day production.
It is Continental's third divestiture of non-core assets this year.
