A federal judge in Houston has granted an emergency order reinforcing protection against creditors for troubled marine contractor Emas Chiyoda Subsea, which filed for bankruptcy earlier this week.

Specifically the directive underscores ECS protection from seizure of assets, including admiralty claims from foreign creditors, according to the order signed by bankruptcy judge Marvin Isgur.

Creditors are prohibited from exercise control over the property of the company or otherwise interfering in their operations under their normal course of business worldwide.
