The spill occurred Tuesday and was fully contained by Wednesday afternoon, Crescent Point spokesman Trent Stengl told Upstream via email.
The emulsion, which spilled into a farmer's field, is believed to be 95% produced water.
"Once the emulsion clean-up is complete, we’ll finalise the remediation plan for the farmer’s field," Stengl added.
According to a Reuters report which cited a government official, the release happened near the village of Pennant and did not affect wildlife or water that bears fish or is used for drinking.
