The privately-owned operator was hit by a surprise recommendation last week by planning officers of Lancashire County Council that its proposed four-well drilling sites at Preston New Road and Roseacre Wood be refused planning permission.
The Preston New Road application was recommended for refusal on the basis of its noise impact and the Roseacre Wood bid was recommended for refusal on noise and traffic grounds.
