Survey player Fugro has taken delivery of the first of three new compact multi-purpose survey vessels being constructed by Dutch shipbuilder Damen in Galati, Romania.
The 53-metre overall length, dynamically-positioned Fugro Proteus is a compact survey ship accommodating 30 crew that is capable of a range of survey, monitoring and inspection operations.
Damen said the Fugro Proteus and two more similar vessels due later this year were equipped for “variety of survey and inspections duties including light geotechnical work, environmental baseline surveys, monitoring and inspection, and moon pool deployments”.
