Earlier reports had claimed a 39-year old man, surnamed Shin, fell from scaffolding while working on the Aasta Hansteen project being carried out for Statoil, however the yard later told Upstream Shin actually fell from a stair tower.
Shin was taken to hospital but died two hours later, having reportedly sustained injuries to his face and neck, as well as fractures to his arms and both legs.
