Joint venture partner Carnarvon Petroleum revealed there had been a mechanical issue with the drilling system on the semi-submersible Ocean Monarch.
It added the issue had since been rectified but said, as a result of the issue, the well was now roughly 10 days behind schedule.
Roc-2 was spudded last month in a water depth of about 100 metres and is a follow up to the Roc-1 discovery which is estimated to hold a best estimate recoverable resource of 270 billion cubic feet of gas and 13 million barrels of condensate.
