The Norwegian player established the forging materialproject after requests from stakeholders in the subsea sphere, it said at OTCin Houston on Wednesday.
“In the construction of asubsea project, one challenge is the long delivery time of large steel forgingsused for key components,” it said.
“This is mainly due tocompliance with oil companies’ individual requirements.
“DNV is now inviting thesubsea industry to jointly obtain synergies by developing a best-practiceapproach.
