The company said Monday that electric logs had indicated 16 metres of net oil pay over a 19-metre interval at its SAGW-5 appraisal well in the Sagiz West oilfield.
Reservoir quality appeared very good with porosities ranging from 15% to 25%, Max added.
The company also saw positive results from the UTS-13 appraisal well on the Uytas field, with logs indicating eight metres of net oil pay in “excellent” quality Cretaceous reservoirs over a 53-metre interval.
