DTE will acquire a 100% interest of peer M3's Appalachia gathering system, located in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. In addition, it will acquire a 40% interest of the Stonewall gas gathering system in West Virginia from M3.
The company will purchase an additional 15% stake from privately held Vega Energy, giving it a majority interest.
The assets gather natural gas produced in the Appalachia region, including the Marcellus and Utica shales, and provide access to multiple markets such as the Great Lakes region, through connections with Columbia Gas Transmission, Texas Eastern Transmission and the Nexus Gas Transmission project currently being developed by DTE and Spectra Energy.
