Woodside and joint venture partner Mitsui have drilled a dry deep-water exploration well in the Exmouth sub-basin off Western Australia.
The Malaguti-1 well was drilled in 588 metres of water in the second quarter of this year, but Woodside said in its latest financial results the well was dry.
It was a large oil target in Block WA-271-P, which has previously delivered the Laverda oil discovery.
