The Callawonga-12 well was drilled to a depth of 1449 metres in PPL 220, hitting a gross four-metre oil column in the primary target McKinlay member and Namur sandstone targets.

The well was drilled 230 metres south-east from the Callawonga-3 production well to accelerate production from the northern part of the field and will now be cased and suspended.

“This is a pleasing result which reinforces the remaining production and development potential upside in the Callawonga oilfield,” Cooper Energy managing director David Maxwell said.
