A strict set of measures are being forced, however, by the European Aviation Safety Authority (EASA) on foot of the lifting of the grounding of the Airbus Helicopters Super Puma EC225 LP and AS332 L2 models.
The suspension, which was lifted on Friday, was put in place on 2 June after a Super Puma EC225LP, operated by CHC Helicopter, was en route from Statoil’s Gullfaks B platform to Bergen’s Flesland Airport when it crashed on a small island east of Turoy on Norway’s west coast on 29 April.
