An arbitration panel from the International Chamber of Commerce on Sunday ordered Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) and Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) to pay the Israeli state player $1.76 billion plus interest.
Israel Electric had been looking for $4 billion from the two companies following the decision in 2012 to terminate a 20-year agreement that saw Egyptian gas piped to Israel.
