Singapore's Emas Chiyoda Subsea said its Norway-based construction unit, Emas AMC, has been placed under voluntary liquidation in the European country.

Emas Chiyoda said it was announcing the liquidation separately from a previous announcement that the subsea construction specialist is seeking financial restructuring through a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in US court.

"(Emas Chiyoda) clarifies that Emas AMC AS has not filed for such protection," the company said, referring to the Chapter 11 proceedings.
