Under the terms of the deal, Emerge unit Superior Silica Sands will take over rights to owned and leased land and lease rights to the sand, as well as regulatory permits needed to mine the proppant in Jackson County, Wisconsin.
The sand is primarily Northern White grade, which is favoured by many operators because of its higher crush strength.
In return Emerge will now sell sand to Seventy Seven “with a market-based discount” and Emerge will reimburse Seventy Seven for some capital expenditures associated with the early development of the mine sight.
