Enbridge said on Thursday that it had completed a review of the pipeline proposal and concluded that the project should be delayed until production recovers.
The 600-mile pipeline would have carried up to 375,000 barrels per day of crude from North Dakota's Bakken oilfield to Enbridge's Superior, Wisconsin terminal.
"Based on updated projections, (Enbridge) believes that new pipeline capacity will not likely be needed until beyond the company's five-year planning horizon," according to a release.
