The Mediterranean and north Africa-focused operator plans to gather 400 kilometres of 2D seismic and drill two wells by June 2016 at the acreage in the South Central Dessert in Upper Egypt where it holds a 60% operatorship interest.
Energean Oil & Gas says the licence has a similar geological structure to that of the neighbouring Al Baraka oil field, where international oil companies have been producing hydrocarbons for several years.
