The Milan-headquartered oil major said that it has now signed the concession agreement for a 100% interest in the South-West Meleiha block as initially indicated last September following the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) 2013 international competitive bid round.
The 2058-square kilometre concession lies immediately south of the Meleiha (Melehia) license operated by the Agiba joint venture of Eni’s Egyptian arm IEOC and EGPC, which manages Eni’s operations in the Western Desert.
