Eni revealed Friday the Nidoco North-1X on the Nooros East exploration prospect had been successfully drilled and was expected to start production by the end of March.
Nidoco North-1X was drilled in the Abu Madi West licence, in Egypt’s Nile Delta, from an onshore location as a deviated well to the offshore Nooros East field which lies in shallow waters.
The well hit more than 43 metres of net gas and condensate bearing sandstone of Messinian age with, what Eni described as, excellent petrophysical properties.
