Eni said on Thursday that the first project it plans to develop in Egypt will be a 50-megawatt photovoltaic plant on the Sinai peninsula.
The project will be implemented with “a fast-track schedule” through Petrobel, an equal joint venture between International Egyptian Oil Company (IEOC), Eni’s subsidiary, and the state company Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC).
The plant will be sanctioned next month and completed by December 2017.
