Norwegian operator Equinor is in talks with Nigerian authorities about terms for the potential development the 1.25-billion-barrels-of-oil-equivalent Nnwa-Doro gas and condensate discovery off Nigeria.

Equinor is eager to find a viable development solution for the deep-water discovery, which is located in 1191 metres of water, 180 kilometres south-west of Port Harcourt.

“It is a significant gas discovery and we are looking at possibilities to develop the project,” Equinor executive vice president for projects and technology Anders Opedal told Upstream at on the sidelines of the operator's capital markets update this week.
