Walanga-3, which was spudded on Monday, followed the completion of the Walanga-2 Twinning probe.
The wells form part of a four-well development drilling programme which also includes Walanga-1 Twinning and Sampi Sampi-1 Twinning. Each well is targeting the Tacipi formation at a total depth of 2600 feet.
According to EWC, the drilling campaign is expected to be completed around mid-December.
The four wells are expected to provide the initial feedstock gas supply for the company’s Sengkang liquefied natural gas project, which is said to be sized for 1 million tonnes per annum of LNG.
