Jurors in New Orleans took less than one hour on Thursday to find Robert Kaluza not guilty of negligence on a single count of violating the US Clean Water Act.
The 65-year-old and his former colleague Donald Vidrine had previously faced more serious manslaughter charges stemming from the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig that killed 11 people and led to one of the worst oil spills in US history.
