The US supermajor on Monday announced an expanded linkup with the state-led company aimed at capitalising on the promise of US and Canadian shale gas.

But Richard Guerrant, ExxonMobil's vice president, Gas & Power Marketing, did not elaborate when asked whether stepped-up collaboration would involve exploration stakes, additional LNG plants or other options.

“We’re working on a lot of opportunities both here and around the world,” Guerrant told reporters at the LNG 17 conference in Houston.
