The worker was building the scaffolding with four others when it collapsed and fell into port waters, Marathon spokesman Brandon Daniels wrote in an email. The other workers were not injured.
According to local reports, the worker who died was a contractor. The worker fell into the water at around 11:15 a.m. local time, and a dive team from the Texas City Sheriff's Office recovered the body after 4 p.m.
