Empire revealed Tuesday testing of the Lower D sand failed to flow gas or fluid over a 14-hour period, with down-hole pressure gauges indicating a very low permeability sandstone interval which Empire said would be unable to flow sufficient gas and condensate to be commercial.
The disappointing result comes after the company had previously confirmed movable hydrocarbons in the Cattamarra C and upper D intervals in the well during testing earlier this month.
