The heavy lift of the 10,000-tonne main support frame - the heaviest of four modules to be installed on the North Sea facility - was carried out by Italian contractor Saipem’s crane vessel Saipem 7000, according to a Statoil spokesman.
The state-owned operator is now ready to install the process, equipment and living quarters modules, as well as the flare tower, atop the earlier installed platform jacket to be carried out over the coming days.
